Dionne Benson
Dionne Benson is the Chief Veterinary Officer for 1/ST Racing which owns Santa Anita Park and Gulfstream Park Racetracks as well as San Luis Rey and Palm Meadows Training Centers. Additionally, 1/ST Racing owns the Preakness Stakes. Dr. Benson is responsible for horse welfare and safety policy implementation at all 1/ST Properties. In addition to having her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Benson also has her Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law and a Masters in Animal Welfare from the University of Pennsylvania.
